La Refene is one of Pommard's lesser-known Premier Cru vineyards, located below the larger Les Charmots site on the Cote d'Or. Like most in the commune, La Refene is planted entirely to Pinot Noir, and produces dense, structured red wines with smoky, spicy characters and ripe tannins
