Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc 2012
-Smell sweet, taste dry.
-Sort of a typical Sauvignon Blanc, with fresh tropical fruit favour.
-Light yellow-golden color, with medium to full body.
-Aroma of apricot, pineapple and lemon.
-Quite high acidity with fresh favour.
-Open up after half an hour, taste better after 15-30 minutes aeration.
-Medium finish with a hint of oak.

Disappointed
We have drunk 2 bottles of this SB and can only conclude (given the reviews above and the excellent quality of the pinot noir, pinot gris and chardonnay, that we got "2 dud bottles". Thin, watery and completely lacking the strong flavour normally associated with NZ SB's.

As good as Cloudy Bay
I was looking to buy a case of cloudy bay and the winerack staff suggested instead trying this wine instead.
It was just as good - and 1/3 the price.

i totally agree that the smell by your nose alone is worth to the its price. The aroma is outstanding with sweet and refreshing tropical fruit notes. it is a lovely SB from NZ

Great wine, it has mouthwatering, saliva inducing effect (don’t quite know how to describe it), but I cant really control myself from downing them all :)

After splashing out on cloudy bay, I expected much more for my $200. What I was really expecting was the quality of vavasour, something that is outstanding.
Aroma
The nose alone is worth price. This is THE best Sauvignon Blanc I've had to date.

We tried some last night and thought it was an outstanding wine….a cut above your typical NZ sav blanc.
