Located at the same geographic latitude as the major French wine making regions, Serbia is a country of great wine producing potential. Back in the 19th century it was a significant wine producer in Europe. Many reds are based on the native Prokupac which is a red wine grape indigenous to the region, grown alongside increasing quantities of French 'international' varieties such as Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Prokupac is a Balkan Peninsula’s red wine grape with layers of complexity. Aleksandrovic Prokupac has intense aromas of ripe sweet cherries and sour cherries that are complemented by the aromas of cloves, cinnamon and elegant vanilla tones. The taste is rich and harmonious, with tones of black cherries and black currants accompanied by extremely soft and silky tannins.

Pairing: Smoked and dried meat, all kinds of red meat, veal and lamb roast, venison, roasted turkey, duck and feathered venison.

Dark red color with purple hues. It is filled with clear and seducing aromas of forest fruits with predominant hints of prunes and blackberries with a subtle hint of tobacco, coffee, cocoa and vanilla in the background.
On the palate it is full-bodied and has a very fine tannin structure. The finish is pretty intense with a fruity character.
