This whiskey was matured in a first-fill bourbon cask. Laying a smooth, sweet foundation of vanilla, honey and butterscotch flavours. It was then transferred into a grand cru Burgundy cask. Steeped in full-bodied pinot noir wine, this cask added rich berry notes, a slight earthiness and the beautifully complex woody spices of French Oak.

A rich and full-bodied Syrah displays aromas of dark plums, sweet cassis melded with hints of orange oil, soy sauce and peppered wild game. The palate displays silk like texture with flavors of baker’s chocolate, blackberry cobbler, salted toffee, and a touch of black olive tapenade.

The Gigondas Olivier Ravoire is a relatively modern style effort. Its deep purple/ruby color is followed by impressive notes of cassis, spice and sweet oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a forward, charming style.

The nose is slightly powerful/rich. It reveals notes of cassis and fresh wild blackberry associated with slightnotes of Cuben pepper, spices, cacao, woody notes as well as a very discreet hint of vanilla (in the background) and undergrowth.

The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced, well-built and offers a beautiful mineral/juicy frame, a slight acidity as well as gourmandise. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy black cherry and slight notes of plum, raspberry associated with a discreet hint of red berries as well as slight hints of spices and toastedoak/sweet spices. Tannins are well-built. Good length.

Barbera may be given the Asti appellation Superiore only if it has been aged in oak casks or barrel for at least 14 months.

Deep red with violet highlights. Intense deep ruby color with matching highlights. The nose demonstrates violet, rich cherries, typical of the Barbera grape, spices, and balsamic hints. The palate full-bodied with a lasting finish.
