Dense fruit on the palate is bound by a structure of fine grained tannins and a lively acidity. This wine shows great depth and character and yet is refined with a long, elegant finish.

In fire-fighting parlance, a “tillerman” steers the back of a hook & ladder truck. Our founder, Cecil De Loach, held this position in the San Francisco Fire Department. The Tillerman red blend exhibits a deep purple, with notes of ripe wild berries, black cherry, and baking spices on the nose. Layered flavors of black currant and raspberry lead to a long finish of spice and dusty cocoa.

The nose is slightly powerful/rich. It reveals notes of cassis and fresh wild blackberry associated with slightnotes of Cuben pepper, spices, cacao, woody notes as well as a very discreet hint of vanilla (in the background) and undergrowth.

The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced, well-built and offers a beautiful mineral/juicy frame, a slight acidity as well as gourmandise. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy black cherry and slight notes of plum, raspberry associated with a discreet hint of red berries as well as slight hints of spices and toastedoak/sweet spices. Tannins are well-built. Good length.

Deep color, almost dark. Complex and intense nose: black berries (blueberry, blackcurrant), spices (clove), torrefaction (cacao, tobacco), wood (cedar) and a fresh menthol note. Solid and powerful palate with ripe tannins: an iron hand in a velvet glove.

Deep ruby/purple color, it has beautiful mulberry and sweet black cherry fruit, silky tannins, and a ripe medium to full-bodied opulence and terrific purity and depth. Drink over the next decade.

Dark red color with purple hues. It is filled with clear and seducing aromas of forest fruits with predominant hints of prunes and blackberries with a subtle hint of tobacco, coffee, cocoa and vanilla in the background.
On the palate it is full-bodied and has a very fine tannin structure. The finish is pretty intense with a fruity character.

Pairs superbly with red meat, game meat, rich stews, lamb, rich cheeses and chocolate.

The color of Château Mercier is concentrated, with a dark heart. Intense, the first nose exudes aromas of blackcurrant and violet that let a powdery floral of almond hinting at lilac blossom. The whole leaves an impression of delicacy and softness. The attack on the palate is round and concentrated, but gives way to a lovely fruity freshness. The mid-palate is velvety and delicate. The finish, elongated, is airy and elegant.

A hot year, allowing the grapes to reach excellent maturity, which gave smooth wines, characterized by a dark, intense and deep color. The nose is complex, fruity, floral and fresh. The aromas of fresh figs, blackberries, red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, as well as the noble violet characterize this great vintage. A deep cherry colour hue. Very expressive and complex nose of red fruits (blackcurrant) and spices with a hint of mint and vanilla. The wine is powerful. Ne-ertheless, the tannins are round and smooth. The palate is well balanced between fruit and oak aromas. Perfect with red meat, stew, game casserole and cheese.
