Taisteal Single Grain from Angus Dundee rewards the bold who seek to challenge the status quo. Nose - Toffee sweetness with orange blossom floral notes and a rich vein of vanilla. Palate - Attractively sweet and floral, alongside nutty and fruity flavours. Finish - Endearingly smooth and creamy, drawing out to a light vanilla close.

Taisteal derives its name from the Gaelic word for “journey” and is born of a rich tradition of Scotch whisky. Nose - Leathery dark notes that give way to a sweeter, malty presence with subtle wood notes arising at the close. Palate - Pronounced burst of malt with sweet cereal notes complimented by a creamy texture. Mid palate, there’s a distinct nuttiness followed by a slight astringent citrus finish. Finish - Sweet hints of dark molasses develop to a darker and sweeter conclusion with subtle citrus peel offsetting the rich sweet overtones.

This whiskey was matured in a first-fill bourbon cask. Laying a smooth, sweet foundation of vanilla, honey and butterscotch flavours. It was then transferred into a grand cru Burgundy cask. Steeped in full-bodied pinot noir wine, this cask added rich berry notes, a slight earthiness and the beautifully complex woody spices of French Oak.

This whiskey was matured in a first-fill bourbon cask. Laying a smooth, sweet foundation of vanilla, honey, butterscotch and toffee flavours. It was then transferred into a French oak calvados XO cask. This cask had previously held apple brandy for over six years, steeping it in orchard fruit flavours, while the French oak itself comes through with characteristic, beautifully-complex woody spices.

This blended Irish dram has enjoyed a cask finish in a former Madeira barrel. This finish has lent delightful fruity flavours that perfectly complement the spirit’s natural sweetness.

Drinkers can expect notes of white grape, sweet wine, subtle baking spices, vanilla, grassy malt, some grain sweetness, toffee, apples, a little dried fruit and cherry, and some crisp oak.

Well balanced and approachable, this is another impressive whiskey from Glendalough.

Considered one of world’s best tasting Single Malt Scotch Whiskies it is perfumed with hints of apples and sherry, the aromas move on to the palate and a deeper compexity is found with a creamy dark chocolate and toffee sweetness along with violets and rich hazelnut. A fine and lingering finish.

Produced at the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been made by the sea since 1830, It is the stalwart of the Talisker family, with a spicy complexity, peppery character, smoky smoothness and sweet, lingering peaty finish.

Really smoky and iodine rich. This has to be one of Scotland's most characterful drams. Laphroaig are known for their medicinal malts, and the classic 10 year old is no exception.
