Rhone Valley, France
The Rhone Valley is a huge, diverse, viticultural area. The range of wines produced is as large as the appellation. Aside from a myriad of wine styles, the region produces a wide array of wines in all price ranges.
The Rhône is generally divided into two sub-regions, the Northern Rhôneand the Southern Rhône. The northern region produces red wines from the Syrah grape, sometimes blended with white wine grapes, and white wines from Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier grapes.
The southern region produces an array of red, white and rosé wines, often blends of several grapes such as in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
