Intense purple color, sometimes tending to mauve, the red often evokes rose and licorice. Aromas of youth: cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant. Aromas of maturity: leather, truffle, fur, game. Notes of macerated fruits (prune). Vigorous and full-bodied, it has body and chewiness, on a balanced and robust structure. Long in the mouth, thematurity rounds it out in a sensual and racy way.
Ideal with roasted lamb, prime rib, duck breast or game. Can be served with certain fish such as carp in matelotte
with red wine or cheese.
